Launch and Recovery System
The Launch and Recovery
System (LARS) is the flagship product of Orphan Industries, which
initiated the company's operations in 2006 when it was awarded a
multi-million dollar contract to supply Oceaneering International
Inc. The LARS is a 30-ton mechanical and hydraulic system designed
to launch and recover Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) during
offshore operations. The system is used in harsh ocean environments
and is fabricated from exotic steel, requiring precise fabrication
that is compliant with strict DNV international standards and
regulations.
Temporary Guide Bases
Temporary Guide Bases
(TGBs) are the initial components of subsea oil and gas structures.
They serve as the foundation and anchor for mobile offshore
drilling platforms, providing stability and balance for the
Permanent Guide Base. The TGB platform is circular, with an
opening in the center to allow the drill bit to pass.
Traction Winches
The traction
winche is the primary component of marine and offshore cable
handling systems, providing significant tractive and load-bearing
exertion to a subsea cable and umbilical. Traction winches use two
sheaves with multiple cable grooves, applying tractive force to the
elliptically reeving cable around the two sheaves. Orphan

Inc.
